On 23–24 August 2026, CAFIS, with support from VIKES Viestintä ja kehitys -säätiö, conducted a two-day training at Sahafi Hotel on Zero Tolerance for Violence in Schools. The event brought together teachers and journalists to strengthen teacher empowerment, media advocacy, and collective efforts to create safer learning environments.
The training highlighted the vital role of educators and the media in preventing violence, exposing harmful practices, raising public awareness, and protecting children’s rights. Participants emphasized that violence against children must never be normalized, ignored, or concealed.
Through responsible journalism, empowered teachers, and stronger community engagement, CAFIS and VIKES reinforced a shared call for accountability and action to ensure schools remain safe spaces. The initiative reaffirmed that every child has the right to learn in an environment free from fear, abuse, and violence.
